How to change the default font for new mindmaps?

I want to have Avenir Book 18 as my default font within new mindmaps. It currently defaults to SF Pro Text 14.

What I have done so far is to go to FORMAT/SET AS DEFAULT FORMAT but to no avail. it does not default to this new setting.

Any suggestions?

Hi Carson,

Yes, setting default by using the “Set as Default Format” command at each level only works at the map level. To achieve what you are looking for, you can create a template with one -size-font-for-all-levels and use it for creating new maps.

Steps to create a template:

  1. Open new Map and add topics at three levels : Main topic, Sub topic, Sub Sub topic
  2. Select each level and choose your desired font type, font size
  3. Navigate to Format menu > Set as a Default Format
  4. Save Map as “MindManager Map template” with extension .mmat by choosing it from File Format list.

HI Carson,

this will work for MM Windows. Check it, if it works for Mac too

change the font in the standard map - Ribbon [Design - Edit Theme - Apply and Close]

Save the map in the back stage menu - [Save As - Save as type: MindManager Template (*.xmmat)

Backstage menu - [New - Add Template = right at the top of the program window]

Right click on your new template and [Change Default Template]

Thanks Shilpa - this worked fine although you have to remember to set as default the new font for each level. I have it working perfectly now. - Carson
