How can I set an automatic update of task start date?
Answered
Hello,
I would like to set a dependency between two tasks:
as soon as task 1 ends, task 2 shall start. This dependency shall be automatically updated, If I change the duration of task 1.
Currently, If I reduce the duration of task 1, task 2 start date stays the same.
This is very annoying, because the overall project time stays the same, and i have to check everything again manually, if there is any gap.
I'm using Enterprise version 20.1.231

The "remove slack" button might help. If your project isn’t too complex.

Hi Botond,
you're using the wrong dependency. It hast du be "Finish to Start".
But you still have to remove the puffer. Puffer-time is needed in projects and therefore the are not removed automatically.
Best, Andreas
