Jira DC integration - Priorities - Error message when updating Jira
Discussion Open
Hi,
We have just started working with the Jira Data Center integration for MindManager. In the project our users are currently getting the following error message when MM updates the issues back to Jira:
"Error sending the changes for the branch [BRANCH] to [JIRA INSTANCE]. No valid priority value was found."
For this particular Project, we modified the priorities as follows:
A = High
B = Medium
C = Low
Could this be problematic for MM as these aren't the standard Jira Priority values or are we getting this message for a different reason?
Kind regards
Paul
Hi Paul,
I asked our QA Team to investigate.

Hi Paul,
The priorities in MindManager are mapped to the priorities in JIRA. The P1 priority in MindManager will correspond to the highest priority in JIRA, in your case priority A. If you only have 3 priorities in JIRA, then priorities higher than 3 in MindManager will not be sent, since no corresponding priority will be found in JIRA. And this error will be shown.
Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,
Thanks very much for the response.
The relevant project in fact has 5 priority levels.
Is it necessary to have exactly 4 priority levels in Jira for Mindmanager to successfully assign corresponding priorities, or can we create more priority markers to align them with the number of priority levels you have in Jira?
Best regards
Paul

In MindManager you can add up to 9 priorities and map them to 9 priorities in JIRA.
Thanks,
Alex
