Integrating MindManager with Google Drive for Blogging: Alternatives to Obsidian Publish/WP

Hello,

I'm exploring streamlined blogging tools and wish to bypass traditional platforms like WordPress.com, which I prefer not to use. I also lack the time to manage a server myself.

While services like Obsidian Publish are viable, my workflow is better suited to MindManager rather than Markdown.

I discovered that while MindManager's publishing feature requires an active license, my older version, MM2020, can save directly to a logged-in Google Drive. This isn't straightforward, though—you can't directly get a hyperlink to a file via a shortcut, but you can link to the file itself.

Has anyone used PicGo? It's often referred to as a "remote library of photos." When you copy a photo to the clipboard, it automatically uploads to web storage and provides an HTTP hyperlink back to your clipboard. Users of Markdown and Obsidian Publish often utilize this method to manage photos, ensuring that the links remain valid regardless of where the Markdown file is moved.

I'm curious if a combination of MM2020 and Google Drive could work similarly with PicGo, potentially saving me $10 a month.

If anyone has experience with this setup or has implemented something similar, I’d appreciate your insights. Thank you!

the mechanism of how file is handled by gdrive, is not stated in the user manual afair.

e.g. i log into my own gdrive to save there, which is reasonable.

however, how do i share to friends? can the share be manipulated e.g. read only, read-write ok?

i of cause have experience in sharing documents from gdrive to friends,

however i am not sure who control the read/write permission -- gdrive? mindmanager2020? both? no control?

yet later when i have time i'll play to find out, but if someone used and could enlighten me,

that will save me sometime.

thanks
