hi,

i am using my map as Grantt chart, but for 1 item, i wanna put in 2 separate TREE.

when i do now is in the 2nd TREE, add the item in the 1st TREE in same map itself as a map roll up. it do show the effect (so i edit once and it is changed in 2 places).

however i do worry for map roll up that if you link A to B and link B to A,

will in some rare cases it "mirror into infinity"?

not very sure about this, thank you.

ps, in mm7 there is a bilink addon that if you do so, each time you refresh the map,

it grows towards infinity.

Subject: Guidance on Using Bi-Directional Links in Hierarchical Maps

Hello,

I'm working with a map structured like a Gantt chart and need to include one item in two different hierarchical trees. To maintain updates across both trees, I've been linking the item bi-directionally (item A in tree 1 linked to item A in tree 2, and vice versa), allowing single edits to reflect in both places.

My concern is the potential for creating infinite loops when items are interlinked this way. I've heard that in certain tools, similar setups can cause the map to expand infinitely upon refreshing.

Could anyone share advice or precautions on when to avoid bi-directional links to prevent such issues?

Thanks!
