Competition time: what is the quickest way to modify the default map template?

"Default map template" means the map you get when clicking the "New" button in the Quick Access toolbar. There are at least two ways to modify it, but which is the easiest?

The easiest way I know is to go to File => New and rightclick the template you want as default, click to confirm . DONE
