How do I sync a file from my map?

When I open a file from my cloud the file is not updated as it is on my map. So I have to open it from the map every time. Why? Same file and same location saved on the cloud.
I think I figured it out. You have to save files as a LINK and not "attach files". Files that are attached are saved on the maps, and not in the cloud, and LINK will always keep the original file in the cloud saved, so you can either open from the Cloud or from the MAP, it will always be the same. If it's attached, then you will only be able to see the last saved version on Maps or Cloud, whichever you saved last.
