Unique Numbers for each branch

Hello @ all,
I'm look for a way to add automatically a unique number / ID for each sub-branch of a specific branch, when adding the sub-branch to the branch.
Important: if a sub-branch has been deleted, the number / ID may not be reassigned.
the picture shows an example, where I solved it manually. R002 has been deleted.
Is there any way to solve it?

I use it to uniquely identify issues and items in specifications so that there is no ambiguity when referencing an issue or requirement.
