Excel Data Mapper for Windows - Re Import data
Answered
Hi folks
How can I keep the map display settings (Boundaries, sort and Numbering) after updating the information?
Attempts made:
Option 1: Re-Import data using current configuration. Clicking this option clears all map formatting.
Option 2: Show Excel Data Mapper Import Configuration, using the "Select Preset" option, selecting the "Previously exported" file and clicking Apply (did not work either)
To elaborate on what Alex said. Exel data mapper does not "just" update the info, it overwrites the old import with the new. Any changes you've done to the previously imported data will be lost, formatting included. The preset is designed to allow for an identical import to the same topic (will overwrite,) a new topic, to compare data, or a new map for new version.

The Excel Data Mapper and export facility are not really designed to "round trip" data between MindManager and Excel, but you could look at creating and using a template specifically for import which incorporates numbering and the other features you want and also editing the underlying theme to provide the appropriate display settings for boundaries, etc,
