By going back a generation...found that is on install, you click on settings, it seeks access to calendars...if you do not allow at this stage, the settings will not continue to work

The settings menu is available in both the trial and licensed version of MindManager Mac. If you continue to have problems with accessing the menu, open a case with MindManager support here - MindManager Support

Normally installing software on a Mac goes like: do this, do not think, click next, do not think, etcetera.
So no need to click on settings.
