Is there a way to combine individual mind maps?

I have a large map with a lot of embedded content that is too large to publish. I can divide up the topics and create smaller, publishable maps, but would like to retain the ability to edit all the component parts in one map. Is this possible? How do you do this?

This is a great question. There is a feature to import a linked map back into the master, but this is probably not a sustainable process. Ideally, it would be possible to export a part of a larger map as a small one. Could you set up filtering and filter the big map to slice it up, and export a set of smaller filtered versions? There might be an issue with persisting the same URL if you are using the MindManager publishing server.

In addition to Nick's response:

You can select parts of a large map with your Right Mouse click and select SEND TO New connected Map.

be sure you keep the links open both ways and have it delete the content in you original map.

In this way you can have a group of connected maps. And you can edit them alle just as you need.

In the View ribbon you can select Multimap or combined maps.

That gives you an overview and the option to combine them again (if really necessary)

If you publish the links should come along, so ....

Thanks for your help. The SEND TO New Connected Map function is very helpful!

In addition to using the Send To New Connected Map feature to in effect split existing maps, you can add all or part of an existing map to a main dashboard map using the map Roll Up feature.
