If you are using the Windows application, you can turn off overwrite by unchecking the option shown below:
If you click on a topic once and start typing, your typing replaces all of the topic text.
To modify existing text, click the topic to select it, then click again in the text and a caret appears for editing.
or click on the theme to select it. Click on the space bar and the cursor is after the last character.
