Match width exceeds default width when a hyperlink is added - workaround?
I am using the Modern topic style - R mouse click on the link > topic information display settings.
What I want is the topic length to be based on the text length of the widest topic. However, when using "Format > Match width for selected topics" the topic length defaults to an internal length based upon the hyperlink length.
In the image below the topic width is a default width not based on the topic text but on a truncated hyperlink text of 40 characters "https://www.wunderground.com/forecast..." from the original hyperlink = https://www.wunderground.com/forecast/au/melbourne/IMELBO2204
In the last image I have truncated the hyperlink name, but topic length is still the length of the hyperlink and not the topic length.
Currently, I am using the modify topic length as a default method and shrinking the size to fit, but it is time intensive and defeats the purpose of having a match width widget under the layout menu.
Any work arounds to have the default length the topic text length?
Topic length based on hyperlink length and not the topic text length.
Hi Greg,
Match Width always sets everything to the size of the widest topic so that it does not truncate anything. There are 2 workarounds you could try:
1: Change the link title text so that it's shorter
2: Hide link titles
