I have MindManager 13 for Mac and also have the iOS app MindManagerGo. In MindManagerGo, I can't access iCloud files (only offers Google Drive, Box, etc). Please tell me how or when I can access iCloud files from my iPhone and iPad.

Hi Alan,

You can open files in iCloud using the iOS files app if you have MindManagerGo installed. Just tap on the file stored in iCloud, then tap the share button, then select MindManagerGo from the list of apps.

You can also open MindManager files attached to emails this way.

Happy mapping!

Thank you, Sia. I tried it and it does load the map...however, it just a read-only version. And after I load my map and update the map file on my mac in iCloud drive, I cannot update the file to show the changes in MindManagerGo. Would it be better to put my map files into Google Drive?

Hi Alan,

MindManager Go is only a viewer app at this time, so read-only seems correct. However if you update the file in iCloud then reload it in MindManager Go you should see the latest updates. Are you sure you synced your changes to the cloud? Did you try reloading the file in MindManager Go?

Thanks again, Sia! I see that I can get an updated view using your suggestion. Not the most "friendly". Is it know if MindManager will be expanding their iOS functionality.. e.g., to access iCloud directly (like in DropBox) and also a "read" capability so I can create/edit my maps from my iPad/iPhone?

Hi Alan,

Editing in MindManager Go is planned but I can't share a release date at this time.

iCloud enhancements for MindManager Go are not on the immediate roadmap at this time. The rationale is that MindManager is a multi-platform tool and iCloud only works on apple devices. Most of the customers we talk to have people working on various platforms so they choose a cloud storage solution that allows cross platform collaboration such as Microsoft OneDrive, SharePoint, or Google Drive.

I encourage you to post your request for enhanced iCloud functionality here on our forums as an idea to see if other MindManager users vote for this feature.

Thanks!

Hi Sia...sorry for the long time to respond. iCloud is also multiplatform in that it is supported on Apple and Windows. So I don't understand why MindManager can't support iCloud the same way as DropBox, etc. See how to install iCloud on Windows: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204283. What would MindManager want me to post to support iCloud better?

Hi Alan,

To my knowledge, Apple does not provide developer apis for the Windows operating system, which is what we would need to integrate it into the Windows desktop product.

You can post your request for iCloud support in MindManager Go as an idea here on the forums so that other MindManager customers can vote on it.

I checked with an Apple friend involved Apple developers and there doesn't seem to be any reason the MindManager would have access to API's....in fact the way GoogleDrive works with MindManager Go must use Apple APIs. So this issue of APIs must not be the complete issue. I will also submit inputs to the MindManager forum "idea", too.
