setting powerfilter with a macro

I am looking for the relevant help information to implement this idea.
Any hints where i can find the help about how to control the powerfilter via macros?

The filter object in the Document API is a bit out of date and only reflects generic element types (e.g. hide floating topics). It does not give access to the Power Filter and saved filters based on markers or other content. However a macro can directly control the Filter property of individual topics, so could apply its own filter based on calculations made by the macro.
