Is there any way to free hand draw in a map when presenting and capture that drawing?

I was presenting using a map, not walkthrough or slides, and wanted to draw some lines on a picture in the map to illustrate an idea. Started using shapes but the shapes landed behind the picture. Is there a way to draw lines on top of a picture?
